Node Parent
Device Parent Description
This technical chart shows a time history plot of a single device's parent and candidate (or alternative) parent.
The chart title contains the chart name, device identity and date and time.
The X axis, as for many of the charts is time, and the axis scrolls so that the present time is always at the end of the axis.
The Y axis is divided into lanes, one for each device in the system (limited to those that are permitted to route data or which are gateways). The active parent is drawn as a blue trace and the candidate (or alternative) parent is drawn as a green trace.
The chart on the right illustrates how devices may switch parents depending on how the device (and its parent) moves around, or as radio conditions in the environment change.
Paarent in un-meshed Systems
In un-meshed or non-routed systems, such as Nanotron swarm bee, the parent is the gateway device through which measurements are received. In systems with multiple gateways this therefore indicates which gateway is receiving the swarm broadcasts and reporting them to the whereBox.
