the whereBox

Introduction

The Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the Omnisense whereBox provides straightforward user controls allowing the user to configure, operate and monitor the system connected to it.

The GUI consists of four areas containing user controls and displays:

  1. A set of graphics control icons at the top
  2. A row of tabs for switching between different  aspects of the system: Charts and Graphs (Main) for graphical views; Devices Configuration (Devices) for configuring and managing the network; and Data Analysis (Analysis) for off-line analysis of captured data.
  3. A control panel on the left
  4. A main window occupying most of the screen

When the whereBox is started it presents the Devices Configuration screen (shown on the right) first. This screen contains general information about the system that is running. The contents of the control panel and main window change as different features are selected.

Setting up the Physical System

Our Quick Start guide provides a concise one-page description of the essential steps for setting up the physical system of devices connected to the whereBox.

There are also some application notes providing guidance for setting up different  systems with a few example use cases.

Release Information

This documentation applies to release 2r985 (February 2016) onwards.

For information about earlier CLE releases, please refer to Omnisense Support.

This documentation can also be found on-line at www.knowhereanywhere.com

Tab Functionlity

Available tab names are shown in bold.

Greyed out tabs are not available. There are several reasons why a tab function may not be available:

  • The function may not be supported yet in the whereBox release.
  • It may not be supported by the network hardware and configuration being used.
  • It may be temporarily unavailable because of the operating mode of the system.

When a tab is selected the user interface is switched to the functionality provided by the tab. If the system is running it continues to do so in the background.
